We’re fortunate to live on rural property where we can ride on our own land, which means we’re on public roadways very infrequently. But if you’re a motorcyclist who does ride on the roads, I want to strongly encourage you to wear a GoPro or similar video recording system whenever you ride.

Too many motorcyclists have made a bad name for the rest of us by riding recklessly. Because of that, I’ve seen — time and time again — that when there are two versions of how an incident happened, the motorcyclist is often believed less.
If it’s your word against a driver’s word, the assumption frequently works against you simply because you were on a motorcycle.
That’s where video comes in. A camera can eliminate the entire “he said, she said” problem by clearly showing what actually happened.
Video evidence can quickly resolve liability disputes
In a personal injury case, we don’t need to prove fault beyond a reasonable doubt. The legal standard is much lower than that.

Wearing a camera only helps if it’s working. Make sure recording becomes part of your regular riding checklist:
- Confirm the camera is charged
- Make sure it’s recording before you start riding
- Download footage when needed
- Clear storage space regularly
- Check mounts and angles periodically
It’s a simple habit that can make a major difference if something goes wrong.
